Data Attribution
Our address data is NZ Addresses, from Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), sourced from the LINZ Data Service and licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence. We keep it up to date with LINZ's releases.

If you display or redistribute address data obtained from this service, CC BY 4.0 requires you to credit LINZ. Use LINZ's recommended wording, with "LINZ Data Service" linked to https://data.linz.govt.nz/ and "CC BY 4.0" linked to the licence:

How we change the data
We do not serve NZ Addresses exactly as released. We reformat each address into the fields and single-line
label our API returns, index it for search, keep addresses LINZ has withdrawn so stored ids still resolve
(their address_status is retired), add an unofficial postcode, and derive one place
per suburb, town or city and postcode, with its centre, for the Location API.
Postcodes
The postcodes we return are unofficial. They come from the open_nz_postcodes project, which releases them under CC0. They are not NZ Post's postcodes, and they are wrong for roughly 5 addresses in 100.
Every address carries postcode_source, saying how its postcode was assigned:

| suburb (majority) | Most of the suburb's addresses have this postcode. Lower confidence. |
| none | No postcode could be assigned; postcode is "". |
| corrected | Set from customers' postcode corrections to this address. |
| corrected (road) | Spread to the whole road because customers' corrections on it agreed. |
If a postcode is wrong, report it.
Coverage
Coverage is New Zealand only: the addresses in LINZ's NZ Addresses. We do not serve addresses for any other country.
